Melting, sticky, sweet, the warm taste of maple rushing over his tongue, melting into sugery maple flavoured liquid with the heat.
Soft clinking, and another was unwrapped and popped past pale lips as the albino nobody placed another peice of candy into his mouth, sucking slowly, lazily almost, one hand pressed ever so lightly against his cheek, elbow resting on the desk.
The soft sound of pages being turned and the soft scent of maple filled the library, Chishiki, he was called, new to the castle and beyond the library kitchen and one or two other places he had not really been around the castle.
Another crinkle, another candy.
Closing the book as he finished it the nobody set it aside with utmost care, picking up another and flicking it open, reading again though he had already read it before.
His eyes, the colour of warm wine or cooling lava scanned easily over the words, white hair falling about his face.
At the moment his coat was off, hanging on the chair he was sitting on, leaving him in his under outfit.
Picking up another of the candies he flicked his tongue out, lapping over it before finally pressing it past his lips.
No doubt by now the taste of maple was permanent upon his lips and mouth, but it didn't matter, they made him feel just the slightest shadow of happiness, besides, he was a nobody now, how much health harm could the candy do?
Lapping the sugery stickyness from one finger so he wouldn't ruin any books he continued on like that, reading and suckling on the rich candy in mild content.

Although the book lie open, the green-eyed gaze was not at the words upon the page. The topic was nothing important to the reader, so she had simply spaced off, her mind going to the past once more. Alas, the past was a thing the girl would not speak of. Still, its scenes, both happy and sad, ran through her mind. A picture was in her hand, a happy look on her face. Using her shoulder as an arm rest was a young man, about fifteen with brunette hair and blue eyes. They were standing in an open field. People in the background seemed to have battle damage, but were all happy for some reason.
Strands of raven hair fell in front of the fourteen year old's green eyes. Her cloak's hood was up, a spacy look in her expression. Her thoughts shot back to the present, and her head jerked up to see what she had missed in her daydreaming. Not much, it seemed. Only someone eating some maple candies. Usiki licked her lips. Alas, she did not know this person. She hadn't been here long, and spent more time exploring then meeting people.
Still, she stood, and closed the book quietly. Placing the book back on the shelves, she walked, slowly, towards Chishiki. She held out her hand. "I don't believe we've met." She said, hoping to get an offer of candy. "Call me Usiki."

Pausing Chishiki looked up, finger still hovering lightly over one of the pages, and he slowly turned his eyes upward, blinking slowly at the girl who had spoken to him. Standing he took her hand in a polite way, fingers clean despite is constant candy eating, lithe fingers against hers only for a moment before he slowly pulled his hand away.
"My name is Chishiki" he explained softly, voice low and calm, "if you happen to be looking for a book, I am certain that I know where it is" he continued, "but please, I ask that you do your best to keep them in good condition" he slowly sat back down, "there is nothing more sadenning than an abused book"

"Nice to meet you." Usiki nodded. She managed to keep herself from frowning, slightly disappointed that she hadn't been offered a candy. Instead, she reminded herself why she came to the library in the first place. "Do any of the books mention a girl named Sixar?" She asked. Sixar would lead her to her family, and thus to her past. A past she wanted back badly. A past she spoke to no one.
She highly doubted that there would be a book on Sixar, as she had vanished the same time her 'clan' did, but if she was mentioned, it might be about said clan, she figured. And said clan opposed people who opposed another group in which her father existed.
Confused?
No? Really?
Cuz I am.

Sixar, Sixar... that name DID sound familier...
playing his fingers along the edge of the page Chishiki blinked slowly, dark ruby eyes cold. "yes...I do think I have heard that somewhere" he stated, popping another candy into his mouth. "But you'll have to pay somehow..." he smiled slightly eyes staying cold, "something containing maple...anything really" he purred.
Oh how he did love maple things.

Usiki's face lit up visibly when Chishiki revealed that he had heard the name somewhere before. She wondered what a book on a mage clan would be doing here, but figured that it was a library. Who knew what topics were covered her. She allowed him to continue before she spoke, although inside she was throwing a mini-party.
Unfortunately, the party was outdoors and it began raining when he mentioned payment. She checked her pockets. I'm broke... Usiki was broke. Oh how some would laugh in disbelief if they knew her father. She chewed on her lip. She couldn't raid the pantry. She'd probably get in trouble for that. Great... So much for that.

Chishiki paused, and then sighed, "fine...fine, but you have to pay me later" he grumbled when he saw that she had nothing with her and was clearly not going to get something.
Standing he turned around, walking off for a bit and coming back with a rather thick book. setting it down he tapped it gently with one finger.
"if you damage this book I won't be pleased" the nobody stated, pushing it towards the girl. "it's some book on magic and its history, I don't know, magic never interested me much..."

Usiki was relieved when he told her to pay him later. She'd be sure to do so. She'd just have to do a couple side jobs to get some money for some maple candies for the boy.
"Promise I'll get you something as soon as I have some money." She promised him as he went to get the book. As soon as he put the book down, and told her not to damage it, she nodded. "I'll be careful." She assured him. She gently flicked to the index. She flicked to the S section. Sixar, Sixar, where's Sixar... She found it, then flicked to the page it had specified. At the top of the page, in bold letters, was
Kuro no Bengonin
"Should've known." She muttered, running her fingers over the familiar name of Sixar's clan. A list of members was below that. She looked at the second in command.
Hikari Alias(es): Risa, Sixar
"Thank you." She said to Chishiki quickly, still reading through the section. "There's a date of death?" She hadn't known that. "That's odd... I didn't know she died..."

Chishiki shrugged, popping another candy into his mouth. "don't thank me, you are paying after all, I did it for myself, not for you" he flicked to the next page in his book, reading over it with a look of content boredom, a sort of 'I am doing what I am supposed to be doing, and I am doing it well' sort of expression.
All the same he kept an eye on the girl, making sure she was careful with the book she held.

Usiki wasn't paying too much attention, only nodding as Chishiki spoke. She was too busy scanning the page for any information on Sixar and her clan.
Alas, the information soon ran dry and she, gently, closed the book with a sigh. She wished there had been more information. Cause of death, possibly? There was for most of the others who were dead. Yami was killed in a war, Shageki fell into a river and drowned, Maboroshi took her own life. But Sixar had no cause of death. Gone missing, possibly, and given up on? Maybe she was still alive, then.
"Don't get your hopes up." She muttered to herself.

Chishiki laughed softly, popping yet another candy into his mouth. "good idea" he purred, "after all He or she who has never hoped can never despair." he smirked, looking up at the girl, "but then...as nobodies, do we even have the ability to despair?"
he traced an elegant slender finger over his lower lip, still smirking, ruby eyes closing gently. "I think not" he cooed, eyes opening half way "I think, not"

Well it seems the castle had quite a few new additions. Grilvix guessed that the boy was the librarian he had to speak too, for darkness sake he could smell the maple candy all the way from the door.
“Hey you.” He spoke up as he approached Chishiki, arms folded across his chest as he looked down at the librarian. “I’m looking for a particular book. Perhaps you could help me.”

Turning his dark red-wine eyes up on Grilvix Chishiki tilted his head slightly, lips twitching up in a sort of almost smile-smirk. "and perhapse you should work on your attitude?" he blinked almost too-innocently.
"but yes" he gently popped another candy into his mouth, glancing in disdain at the almost empty candy dish. "I'm certain I can help you..."
he lightly licked his lips, like a kitten cleaning cream from its muzzle, "the question is...what book is it....and if it is...particularly, important...what will you give to me in return?" he blinked slowly, gently pushing some of the snow-coloured hair from his face.

Well this one certainly wasn’t like Xanthia’s other servants, not afraid to bark and perhaps even bite. He noticed Chishiki glance down at the last few maple candies in the dish, well he confirm the boy liked his candy alright.
“I’m looking for any book on black magic.” He said ignoring the librarian’s earlier comment but pulled out only one of the many candies he had in his pocket and placed it in the dish.
“You want more?” He asked still looking down at Chishiki. “Then bring me what I’m looking for.”

Chishiki moved to make another remark, but the candy distracted him, and he paused, taking the candy from the dish and nibbling at it for a moment before eating it. A warm smile tugged at his expression, and he looked warmly up at the nobody. "oh yes sir" he purred, standing up and making his way around his desk, heading off somewhere, no doubt to some hidden spot he knew about.
He returned with a stack of books, about four, each of them very thick. Sitting down again he set the books on the desk, tilting his head, still smiling, though his eyes held the usual look of a cat playing with a flightless bird.
"here you are, sir, now...about that payment?" he purred.
